St. Cloud Firefighters Save 6 Lives in Three Weeks

When St. Cloud firefighters arrived at a burning home on 11th Avenue Southeast early Friday morning, they faced zero visibility and intense heat. But they didn't hesitate, rushing inside to save two people trapped in the flames.

The call came in just before 2:25 a.m. Crews found heavy flames consuming the back of the house while witnesses reported that people were still inside. Despite conditions so severe they couldn't see their own hands, firefighters located both victims and got them out alive.

Both rescued individuals were rushed to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. The fire spread through the home and into the attic, ultimately rendering the house unsafe.

This rescue marks the third time in three weeks that St. Cloud firefighters have pulled people from burning buildings. On March 13th, crews saved two people from a home fire on 40th Street South. Just nine days later on March 22nd, they rescued residents from a large apartment fire.

That's six lives saved in 21 days.
