The couple met in 2015 while teaching and took their first cruise together the next year. They instantly fell in love with life at sea but returned to their regular jobs and routines.

That works out to roughly $1,250 per month for accommodation, meals, entertainment, and transportation between countries. Meanwhile, they rent out their Memphis home for steady income to cover the costs.

Monica's mother gave her the push she needed. After Monica's father fell ill, her mom told her: "Don't wait for retirement. Follow your dreams."

So they sold their belongings, quit teaching, and set sail. When ships disembark from the same ports, they simply walk from one cruise to the next. Occasionally they fly to connect between voyages.
