Tech Grads in Singapore Earn $4,300 Starting Pay

Fresh graduates with information and digital technology degrees are taking home the biggest paychecks in Singapore, earning a median monthly salary of $4,300 right out of college.

The 2025 Joint Autonomous Universities Graduate Employment Survey revealed that tech graduates have held the top spot for starting salaries for three consecutive years. The survey gathered data from roughly 14,400 graduates across six major universities, including the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University.

Engineering graduates came in second place with median monthly pay of $4,600, slightly up from the previous year. Health sciences graduates led all fields in job placement, with nearly 90% securing full-time permanent positions.

The survey painted a broader picture of Singapore's graduate job market. Across all fields, the median starting salary held steady at $4,500 in 2025, unchanged from 2024.

However, not all the news was positive. Full-time employment rates among graduates dipped to 74.4% in 2025, down from 79.4% the year before.

The Bright Side

Despite the drop in overall employment rates, tech graduates are still faring well in the job market. Nearly 80% of information and digital technology graduates landed full-time permanent positions, showing strong employer demand for digital skills.

Singapore has been investing heavily in building its tech workforce. The government announced plans to train 100,000 AI-savvy workers by 2029, preparing professionals across industries to use artificial intelligence tools in their daily work.

The consistently high starting salaries for tech graduates reflect a global trend. Companies worldwide are competing for talent who can navigate digital transformation, cybersecurity challenges, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
