Tech Hub Near Lebanon Border Draws 900 Job Applicants

When 900 young professionals rushed to apply for tech jobs near a war zone within just days, they sent a powerful message about opportunity transforming challenging regions into places of hope.

HUBayta-Back to the Galilee, supported by Jewish National Fund-USA, announced that Genpact is hiring 52 junior technology professionals at its hub located three miles from Israel's border with Lebanon. The overwhelming response resulted in 35 candidates already accepted, with interviews ongoing to fill remaining positions.

"The region has not seen a recruitment drive of this scale for high-quality technology positions in more than 17 years, and it's happening despite a recent war," said Nisan Zeevi, founder of HUBayta. While Tel Aviv tech companies lay off workers, the Galilee is actively hiring.

The initiative represents Jewish National Fund-USA's long-term commitment to strengthening Israel's northern communities through infrastructure, employment opportunities, and improved quality of life. The goal is helping families establish roots and thrive in underpopulated areas.

HUBayta collaborates with the JNF-USA-supported Lauder Employment Center in the Galilee, working alongside municipalities, academic institutions, and employment organizations to connect local talent with opportunities. This coordinated approach ensures job seekers across the region can access these new positions.

In its first year, HUBayta attracted 21 companies and created approximately 150 jobs. With Genpact's expansion, the hub has reached 100% occupancy, highlighting strong demand for its model and the need for additional capacity in the region.
