Teen Darts Star Luke Littler Wins 11th Major Championship

A teenager just made history in one of the world's most pressure-packed sports, and even his fiercest competitor can't help but marvel at his talent.

Luke Littler, just 17 years old, won the Winmau World Masters championship on Sunday in a nail-biting final against Luke Humphries. The match went to a final deciding set, with Littler edging out his opponent 6-5 to claim his 11th PDC major title.

The victory wasn't easy. Littler survived two match darts during his semifinal against Gerwyn Price, showing the kind of mental toughness that typically takes decades to develop. "I'm shattered," Littler admitted after the final. "Going into the last break at 5-4 down I said to myself I have got nothing left, but I managed to dig deep."

What makes this win special is that it fills a gap in Littler's already impressive trophy cabinet. "This is one I didn't have hold of, but now I've got hold of it, so there's only one more left," he said, eyeing the final major championship that has eluded him.

Humphries, the world number two who lost in the final, offered praise that sent shockwaves through the darts community: "I said to him at the end I don't think he has a heart. He never folds under pressure. It may be premature, but I think he's the greatest darts player that's ever lived."

That's not hyperbole from a casual fan. That's the assessment of one of the best players in the world, who just battled Littler for hours in front of thousands. "You try your hardest to put him under it but he never folds," Humphries added.

Littler now holds an incredible collection of major titles including the World Championship, World Matchplay, UK Open, World Grand Prix, Players Championship Finals, and Grand Slam of Darts. He's accomplished more before finishing high school than most professionals achieve in entire careers.

The young champion isn't resting on his success. With the Premier League Darts starting Thursday, Littler will continue proving that age is just a number when talent and determination combine.
