Texas Men's Tennis Wins 8th Straight Indoor Berth

The fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns are heading back to the national stage after a commanding performance that showcased the program's consistent excellence.

At the Weller Indoor Tennis Center in Austin, the Longhorns dominated South Florida in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Austin Regional championship match. The 4-0 sweep wasn't just another win. It marked the team's eighth straight qualification for the ITA National Indoor Championships, cementing their status as one of college tennis's most reliable powerhouses.

The young guns delivered when it mattered most. Freshman Abel Forger set the tone with a confident 6-3, 6-4 victory at the number three position, becoming the first player off the court with a win.

Senior Sebastian Gorzny, ranked 39th nationally, extended the lead with a masterful performance against 28th-ranked Hugo Car. Gorzny never trailed by a single game in either set, closing out his opponent 6-4, 7-5.

Freshman Kalin Ivanovski sealed the championship with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at the number two spot. The doubles point came down to a nail-biting tiebreaker, where Ivanovski and Forger edged out their opponents 7-6 in a match that could have swung either way.
