"Achieving commercial operations at our Old 300 Storage project will have tangible benefits, such as strengthening grid reliability," said Melissa Peterson, president of Ørsted Americas Onshore. She pointed out that battery storage plays an increasingly vital role during tight supply and demand moments on Texas's independent power grid.

This isn't Ørsted's first rodeo in American clean energy. The company recently commissioned a billion-dollar battery project in Arizona and now operates 6 gigawatts of onshore renewable energy across the United States.
