Three New Astronauts Begin 8-Month Mission on Space Station

Three astronauts are now calling the International Space Station home after launching into orbit from Kazakhstan earlier this month.

NASA flight engineer Anil Menon and Russian cosmonauts Anna Kikina and Pyotr Dubrov blasted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome on July 14, 2026. Within hours, they docked safely at the orbiting laboratory, beginning their planned eight-and-a-half-month mission as part of Expedition 74.

Just four days after their arrival, the new crew celebrated their successful journey with cake and smiles, posing for photos aboard the station. The image captures the camaraderie that defines international space cooperation, with team members from different nations working side by side.
