Anthony, a traveler passing through Las Vegas, hit the massive jackpot over the weekend after placing a $10 bet on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine in the airport's C Gates. Airport officials shared the incredible news on social media Monday, congratulating the passenger on his unexpected windfall.

The win adds to a growing list of airport lottery stories. In May 2025, another traveler won $1.8 million on a $5 bet at the same airport. Before that, visitors scored jackpots of $1.4 million and $1.3 million in recent years.

Harry Reid International is one of only two commercial airports in the United States where passengers can gamble in the terminals. Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the other. Over 1,400 slot machines operate across the Las Vegas terminals, run by Michael Gaughan's Airport Slot Concession.

Anthony will face a 24% federal tax withholding on his prize, but Nevada offers a silver lining. The state doesn't tax personal income or gambling winnings, meaning he'll keep more of his windfall than he would in most other states.
