Troy Spratley Dominates U23 Wrestling, Wins 69-0

Troy Spratley just turned in one of the most dominant performances in wrestling history, shutting out every opponent on his way to a national championship.

The two-time NCAA All-American stormed through the 57 kg bracket at the U23 Nationals in Geneva, Ohio, winning seven matches without giving up a single point. His final score across the tournament? A jaw-dropping 69-0.

In the championship series, Spratley swept Mack Mauger with back-to-back 10-0 technical falls. His flawless weekend earned him Outstanding Wrestler honors at SPIRE Academy.

Nine other young wrestlers joined Spratley as champions on Sunday, each proving they're ready to compete on the world stage. Bennett Berge, a two-time age-group World medalist, defeated his former teammate Brock Fetting with decisive 9-3 and 6-2 victories at 86 kg.

Matthew Singleton showed similar dominance at 79 kg, scoring double digits in all eight of his matches. The 2023 U20 World bronze medalist closed out his championship with an 11-0 technical fall and 11-5 decision over Daschle Lamer.

The heavyweight division delivered the weekend's most dramatic moment. At 125 kg, Connor Mirasola lost the first bout to Jimmy Mullen via pin but bounced back with a 5-3 decision. In the winner-take-all third match, Mirasola secured the title with a pin of his own.

Camden McDanel made quick work of his competition at 97 kg, pinning his opponent just 17 seconds into the championship series opener. He claimed the title after his opponent had to forfeit the second match due to injury.

The Ripple Effect

These ten champions aren't just collecting medals for themselves. All ten earned spots to represent the United States at the 2026 U23 Pan American Championships in Lima, Peru, this June.

For many of these athletes, including Nicco Ruiz at 74 kg and Noah Tolentino at 65 kg, the victory marks another step toward Olympic dreams. They'll carry American hopes to South America, competing against the best young wrestlers from across the Western Hemisphere.

The complete champion roster includes Massey Odiotti (61 kg), Jordan Williams (70 kg), and Hayden Walters (92 kg), each sweeping their championship series. Their combined victories showcase the depth of American wrestling talent preparing to compete internationally.
