UAE University Tops Nation in Patents, Ranks 67th Globally

A university celebrating its 50th birthday just claimed the top innovation spot in the entire United Arab Emirates.

United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) ranked first in the UAE and 67th globally for US utility patents granted in 2025, according to the National Academy of Inventors. The achievement puts UAEU shoulder to shoulder with ETH Zurich, one of the world's most respected science and technology institutions.

UAEU is now the only UAE university in the Top 100 worldwide. The school has climbed steadily from 90th place globally in 2021, showing consistent progress over four years.
