The new system automatically monitors the carbon impact of transporting and processing waste lamps and luminaires. Companies get detailed breakdowns of each collection's emissions, plus practical tips on reducing future carbon output.

Recolight enhanced its IT systems to track vehicle emissions, waste weight, and distance traveled for every pickup. The reports follow official DEFRA and greenhouse gas protocol standards, giving companies reliable data they can actually use.

"The first step for any organisation in reducing its carbon emissions is to measure them," says Recolight CEO Nigel Harvey. The reports do exactly that while showing companies where they can make the biggest difference.

The initiative builds on smart changes Recolight already implemented. They limit last-minute collections that waste fuel, coordinate logistics to combine trips, and provide multiple containers to far-flung locations. One creative touch: they name a monthly Carbon Reduction Champion to celebrate collection partners who pack containers fullest, cutting down unnecessary trips.
