UK Salons Offer Free Haircuts for 12-Inch Hair Donations

✨ Faith Restored

A major UK salon chain is giving free haircuts to anyone donating at least 12 inches of hair to help children with cancer. Regis and Supercuts' 65 salons will collect donations all year to create real hair wigs for young people battling hair loss.

Getting a haircut just became a way to change a child's life.

Regis and Supercuts, with 65 salons across the UK, announced they'll offer completely free haircuts to anyone donating 12 inches or more of their hair to The Little Princess Trust. The service includes a ponytail cut, shampoo, restyle, and blow dry at no charge throughout 2026.

The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people up to age 24 who've lost their hair. More than 2,000 kids receive these wigs every year, most of them undergoing cancer treatment.

The partnership became deeply personal when Carla Whelan, CEO of the salon companies, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She experienced firsthand how a real hair wig restored her confidence during treatment.

"My own recent experience of cancer treatment hair loss and how wigs enabled me to feel confident again reinforced my goal to give something back," Whelan said. She's now mobilizing her 450 salon employees to help collect donations and raise funds for the charity.

The commitment began at the Wella TrendVision Awards in London, where Whelan and her stylists learned how donated hair transforms into wigs. They discovered the charity also funds childhood cancer research alongside its wig program.

The Ripple Effect

This partnership creates a triple win for communities. People wanting to change their hairstyle get professional salon services completely free, children battling cancer receive confidence-boosting wigs made from real hair, and childhood cancer research gets critical funding support.

With 65 locations spread nationwide, the salons can reach donors in communities that might not have easy access to hair donation services. The year-long partnership means sustained support instead of a one-time event.

Phil Brace, Chief Executive of The Little Princess Trust, called the partnership a "huge help" that will let more young people know support is available. The charity needs naturally colored hair donations to meet the growing demand from families.

Anyone interested can book their free donation haircut by calling their local Regis or Supercuts salon directly.
