US Clean Energy Now Powers 79 Million Homes

The real eye-opener? Solar energy is absolutely soaring. Over the past decade, solar production jumped seven times higher, while wind energy doubled. Battery storage capacity grew an astounding 77 times during that same period.

Mississippi increased its solar energy production more than four times in just two years, jumping from 656 gigawatt-hours in 2023 to 2,908 gigawatt-hours in 2025. The state also added wind power for the first time ever, generating 500 gigawatt-hours in 2025 after producing zero just two years earlier.

Arkansas, Florida, and Wyoming are seeing similar surges. Wyoming now gets 75% of its electricity from renewable sources, leading the nation in clean energy adoption.
