UW-Whitewater Baseball Team Goes Undefeated in Conference

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team just accomplished something most programs only dream about: a perfect conference season capped by their third consecutive championship.

The Warhawks completed their historic run on April 26 with a doubleheader sweep over UW-River Falls at home in Whitewater, Wisconsin. With the wins, they finished an undefeated 23-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and pushed their overall win streak to 30 games straight.

This marks the 24th regular season championship in program history for UW-Whitewater, now sitting at an impressive 31-3 overall record. The team clinched the top seed for the upcoming WIAC Tournament, which they'll host May 7-9, with the winner earning an automatic NCAA bid.

The championship-clinching day showcased exactly why this team has been unstoppable. In game one, the Warhawks battled back from an early deficit to win 9-3, with clutch hitting from Dominick McVay and Jackson Koenig providing key doubles. Andy Thies sealed the victory with a two-run homer in the eighth inning.

Game two was even more dominant. Aaron Holland kicked things off with a leadoff home run in the third inning, and the Warhawks never looked back. They posted a 10-0 shutout victory in just eight innings, with pitcher Ben Lee allowing only three hits while his teammates piled on the runs.
