Veterans Donate $400 to Feed Families This Christmas

Veterans in Brownwood are making sure local families have a brighter Christmas this year.

American Legion Post 196 presented a $400 donation to Good Samaritan Ministries at their annual Men's Breakfast on Wednesday morning. The money comes from the Crack Down on Hunger initiative, a program where veterans work to fight food insecurity in their communities.

The donation will purchase items for Christmas boxes that Good Samaritan Ministries distributes to families each December. These boxes typically include food, household essentials, and holiday items to help families celebrate the season without financial stress.

The Crack Down on Hunger program connects veterans with local food security organizations across the country. It turns the service mindset veterans developed during their military careers into ongoing community support at home.
