Veterans across America will soon have easier access to cutting-edge surgical technology that could transform their medical care.

Microbot Medical announced a partnership with Lovell Government Services to bring its LIBERTY robotic surgery system to federal healthcare facilities. This includes Veterans Health Administration hospitals, Military Health System centers, and Indian Health Service clinics serving communities nationwide.

The LIBERTY system helps doctors perform delicate vascular procedures with greater precision than traditional manual techniques. The compact, single-use robot allows surgeons to operate remotely, working on blood vessels in the brain, heart, and throughout the body.

Unlike bulky traditional surgical robots, LIBERTY's streamlined design makes it practical for more hospitals to adopt. Microbot says the technology can lower procedure costs while improving patient outcomes, a win for both healthcare providers and patients.

Lovell Government Services, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, specializes in connecting government healthcare systems with innovative medical technology. The company has been helping federal agencies navigate procurement since 2013.

"We are proud to partner with Microbot Medical to help expand access to innovative healthcare technologies for our nation's veterans, active-duty service members, and Native American communities," said Chris Lovell, the retired Marine Corps Major who leads the company.

The LIBERTY system will be added to federal purchasing platforms by the third quarter of 2026. This streamlined access means the 170 medical centers and countless outpatient clinics in the federal healthcare network can more easily adopt the technology.

The Ripple Effect

This partnership reaches far beyond just adding another piece of equipment to hospital catalogs. Federal healthcare facilities serve thousands of sites nationwide, with each location performing an average of over 200 vascular procedures annually.

That translates to potentially hundreds of thousands of procedures that could benefit from improved precision and safety. For veterans who have already sacrificed so much, accessing the same advanced surgical care available at top academic hospitals represents meaningful progress.

The technology has already gained traction in the commercial market, with hospitals in North Carolina and Michigan recently adopting LIBERTY. International regulatory approval from Israel earlier this year marked another milestone for the system.

Christina Bailey, a two-time Olympic athlete now leading U.S. sales for Microbot, sees the partnership as honoring those who served. "It is an honor to join with Lovell to ensure those who have served in the military along with their physicians have access to advanced medical technologies that address their needs," she said.

Veterans and their families can look forward to more hospitals offering this advanced surgical option in the coming years.
