Volunteers Install Free Smoke Detectors Door-to-Door

Your home could be safer this month thanks to volunteers ready to knock on your door with a free smoke detector and the skills to install it.

The American Red Cross has partnered with Plantation Oaks Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to canvas neighborhoods and install free smoke alarms. The initiative aims to protect families who might not have working detectors in their homes.

Volunteers will spend Monday, March 16th from 9am to 1pm going door to door in the community. They'll offer smoke detectors to any household that needs one and install them on the spot, no questions asked.
