Waste Company Owner Saves Deer Trapped on Frozen Creek

A garbage worker's sharp eyes turned an ordinary workday into a life-saving moment when he spotted a deer trapped on frozen Redstone Creek in Grindstone, Pennsylvania.

The exhausted deer had run out of options on the slippery ice when an employee from JCS LLC spotted it during his regular route. He immediately called his boss to report the stranded animal.

Jim Collins, owner of the municipal waste company, refused to let his workers take the risk. Instead, he drove to the scene himself and carefully made his way down a steep hillside to reach the frightened deer.

Collins drew on his years of ice fishing experience to navigate the frozen creek safely. He guided the struggling animal across the glassy surface, steadying it as its hooves slipped on the ice until it finally reached solid ground.

The entire rescue was caught on camera by an onlooker who later shared the footage. Collins never expected the attention, saying he simply did what anyone would do to help an animal in danger.
