Western Illinois University Plans Pride Fest in May

Western Illinois University is opening its doors wide this spring for an afternoon of celebration and connection.

The university's LGBT*QA Resource Center announced Pride Fest 2026, scheduled for May 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. on the Multicultural Center lawn and parking lot in Macomb, Illinois. This year's theme, "Fabric of Freedom," celebrates the diverse identities that strengthen the WIU community.

The event welcomes everyone regardless of race, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or age. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are all invited to attend.

Pride Fest attendees can expect an engaging afternoon packed with activities. The lineup includes food, interactive games, a photo booth, and live entertainment featuring a vibrant drag show.
