Woman Beats Stage 4 Breast Cancer After 50+ Tumors Vanish

Gladys Gakuu thought she had beaten breast cancer in 2012 when she was just 29 years old. Eight years later, the disease came roaring back with a vengeance.

"Dr. Saleem said, 'We will try our best, but we may not be able to cure the disease,'" Gladys remembers about her first appointment at UT MD Anderson in Houston in August 2020. She was 37 and facing stage 4 cancer for the first time.

"She told me she couldn't see any cancer," says Gladys. "She said she had never seen anything like it."
