Pro wrestler Richard Holliday performing in the ring at wrestling event

🦸 Hero Alert

Pro wrestlers are stepping into the ring for heroes this June in New Jersey. Richard Holliday and the Hardy Boyz will compete in Battle for the Brave to support families of fallen first responders.

Pro wrestler Richard Holliday didn't hesitate when asked to compete for a cause bigger than any championship belt. On June 6 in Rahway, New Jersey, he'll join wrestling legends at Battle for the Brave, a showcase raising money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

"It's a tremendous cause," Holliday told Fox News Digital. "How could I say no to that?"

The event is hosted by TNA Wrestling star Steve Maclin, a U.S. Marine veteran, and Ring of Honor champion Deonna Purrazzo. Together they've assembled an impressive roster of wrestling talent to support families of fallen first responders and military members.

Holliday will compete in the Battle for the Brave Cup, a 12-person gauntlet match that starts as a battle royal. When only two wrestlers remain, it transforms into a one-on-one showdown featuring stars like Maclin, Megan Bayne, and BDE.

Maclin is taking the hardest path possible, entering as competitor number one. "I'm going to take the tough road and the hard road of going No. 1 and trying to make my way all the way through," he said.

WWE legends Matt and Jeff Hardy will headline the event. The brothers share a deep connection to the cause and those who protect their communities.

The Ripple Effect

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors the legacy of firefighter Stephen Siller, who gave his life on September 11, 2001. Today it provides mortgage-free homes to families of fallen first responders, builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans, and supports those who protect America every day.

Holliday believes Maclin and Purrazzo are creating something special. He compared it to his own successful independent event from last year, predicting this could be 2025's top independent wrestling showcase.

The Hardy Boyz put it simply: "We are very grateful for all of these people's services and efforts in keeping us all safe and healthy. We look forward to raising as much money as we possibly can."

When athletes use their platform to honor real heroes, everyone wins.
