Zamfara Gives Farmers 3,920 Bags of Fertilizer for Crops

Thousands of farmers in Zamfara State, Nigeria are getting a major boost to grow more food this season. Governor Dauda Lawal just distributed nearly 4,000 bags of fertilizer, pesticides, seeds, and farming equipment to help local families increase their harvests.

The Thursday distribution event at the Ministry of Agriculture included 3,920 bags of NPK fertilizer, 1,956 bags of Urea fertilizer, 3,920 liters of herbicide, and seed treatments. These supplies will help farmers across the state during the crucial dry season planting period.

"Farming is the backbone of our economy, and it is our responsibility to support farmers with the necessary resources to thrive," Governor Lawal said at the launch. The program builds on previous years of support that has already reached tens of thousands of small farmers in the region.

Zamfara faces real challenges. Security concerns have made farming difficult in some areas, but the state government is working to protect rural communities while boosting food production. The goal is simple: help Nigeria grow more of its own food instead of relying on imports.
