Electric vehicle drivers in New York are about to get a major upgrade to their charging options. Kempower and GET Charged Fast EV Charging are installing 80 fast charging ports across Queens and Long Island, adding to 88 new chargers already planned for Brooklyn.
The new stations will be located at five shopping centers, starting with Glen Oaks Shopping Center in Queens. Each location features eight charging ports that work with both NACS and CCS1 connectors, covering all modern electric vehicles.
Drivers can charge their vehicles at speeds up to 320 kW, which means less waiting around. The stations accept major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay without requiring new apps or memberships, plus they offer discounted rates for overnight charging.

The charging sites in Whitestone, Levittown, and Elmont will open within a few weeks, while Commack is expected to launch in summer 2026. All locations will be open 24/7 with bright lighting and video surveillance for safety.
The Ripple Effect
The strategic placement of these chargers at shopping centers means drivers can plug in and grab groceries, enjoy a meal, or run errands while their car charges. This integration into daily life removes one of the biggest barriers to electric vehicle adoption: the fear of running out of power with nowhere to charge.
The expansion also signals growing confidence in electric vehicles across New York. Just months after announcing 88 chargers for Brooklyn, the region is doubling down on infrastructure that makes zero-emission driving practical for everyone.
For the thousands of EV drivers in Queens and Long Island, these new stations represent freedom from range anxiety and proof that clean transportation is becoming the new normal.
