Columbus Cancer Center Hosts Free Survivor Celebration

Cancer survivors and their families in Columbus have something special to look forward to this month: a free celebration designed just for them.

Zangmeister Cancer Center is hosting "Hope Grows Here: A Survivor Celebration" on Friday, August 28th from noon to 4 PM. The event transforms their Columbus facility into a hub of hope, wellness, and community connection.

The celebration goes beyond typical survivor events by offering practical help alongside inspiration. Zangmeister physicians will share tips on screening, nutrition, fitness, and managing fatigue. These aren't just feel-good speeches but actionable advice survivors can use immediately.

Former NFL player Raymont Harris, who founded Elite Mindset & Performance, will deliver the keynote address on resilience. His journey from professional sports to motivational speaking brings a unique perspective on overcoming challenges.

Hands-on activities include a healthy cooking demonstration called "Feeding Your Soul" and a flower arranging workshop tied to the event's theme. Both activities give survivors new skills they can take home and continue using in their daily lives.

The event welcomes entire families with a dedicated children's activity area, food trucks, and community resource tables. A gratitude wall will let attendees share messages of hope and strength with one another.
