Indiana Fever Unveils WNBA's Largest Training Facility

Professional women athletes are about to get the world-class training environment they've always deserved.

The Indiana Fever released the first interior renderings of their new Sports Performance Center, a three-story facility in downtown Indianapolis that represents the largest investment in WNBA infrastructure to date. The $78 million complex spans 108,000 square feet and is designed entirely around what players actually need.

Team President Kelly Krauskopf says every element was intentionally built around how players train, recover, connect and live day to day. Construction began last summer, with doors opening before the 2027 season.

The facility goes far beyond basketball courts. Players will have access to dual practice courts surrounded by integrated strength and conditioning areas, plus a comprehensive recovery suite with hydrotherapy pools, infrared saunas, and red light therapy.

Star center Aliyah Boston praised the organization's commitment to player care. She says the facility supports who players are on the court just as much as who they are as people off it.

The player-first design shows up in thoughtful details throughout. Individual locker room studios give each athlete dedicated space for preparation, recovery and personal expression, complete with a private lounge just for players.

A chef-driven nutrition program includes a full-service kitchen and smoothie bar. Indoor and outdoor dining spaces let players fuel their bodies with restaurant-quality meals tailored to athletic performance.

The facility even includes amenities rarely seen in professional sports complexes. A dedicated child care space acknowledges that many players are mothers, while a salon for hair, nails and makeup recognizes the unique pressures women athletes face in the public eye.

The Ripple Effect

This investment sends a powerful message far beyond Indianapolis. When organizations back women's sports with the same resources traditionally reserved for men's leagues, they show young girls that their athletic dreams deserve serious support.

The facility also includes fan-facing experiences on the ground level. A Hall of Excellence will showcase Indiana Fever history, and a team store will offer unique merchandise to supporters.

As Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark prepare for this season, they're playing toward a future where women athletes train in spaces built specifically for their success.
