Prague's older Škoda electric buses with Temsa bodies already operate at 104% to 105% of diesel costs before subsidies. They benefit from existing tram substations, regenerative braking systems, and an established electric ecosystem that gets more valuable as it grows.

This approach transforms public investment too. Grants for electric infrastructure create assets that serve communities for generations, while hydrogen subsidies often support fuel systems that still need to prove long-term viability.
