The company's residential battery fleet powers 18 distributed power plant programs across the country. These programs help grid operators manage peak demand, prevent blackouts, and stabilize energy prices during crises.

"Sunrun has spent years deploying distributed energy resources and creating the world's largest distributed power plant," said CEO Mary Powell. She noted the company is ready to support America's grid as it faces growing pressure from AI data centers and increased electrification.

Since launching in 2007, Sunrun has delivered impressive results for both customers and the planet. Families have saved an estimated $1.9 billion on energy costs while enjoying 9.2 million hours of backup power during outages.

The environmental impact reaches even further. Sunrun customers have avoided 26.2 million metric tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to taking 69 gas-fired power plants offline for an entire year.

Sunrun's solar projects on multifamily communities serve more than 37,000 low-income households, reaching approximately 111,000 residents. These families save an estimated $21.8 million annually on energy costs, proving that clean energy solutions can address both environmental and economic challenges simultaneously.

The company's innovation extends beyond traditional home solar. Sunrun operates the nation's first vehicle-to-grid program and neighborhood-level grid solutions, turning homes into mini power plants that strengthen community resilience.
