100+ Indian Educators Unite to Reimagine Primary Learning

When teachers share what works, children across an entire country learn better.

That's exactly what happened when 104 educators from 65 schools across India met in Mumbai this August for a groundbreaking exchange of ideas. The gathering brought together coordinators and principals working in primary education to solve their biggest challenges together.

The one-day conference, hosted by Don Bosco International School, focused on a powerful theme: "Stronger Together, The Power of Collaboration." Teachers didn't just attend lectures. They shared real experiments from their own classrooms that had actually changed how students learn.

The sessions covered everything from hands-on inquiry learning to the role of play in education, and how to smartly integrate technology. But the real magic happened when educators swapped stories about what worked in their schools and how others could replicate those wins.

Meena Saldanha, principal of Don Bosco International School, explained the mission simply. At the heart of it all was finding solutions to tough questions, exchanging what works best, and discussing new ways to enhance learning for young children.

The Ripple Effect

This annual gathering of International Baccalaureate educators creates waves far beyond Mumbai. When one teacher discovers a better way to help children learn through play or inquiry, that insight can now spread to classrooms in 64 other schools across India and South Asia.

The participating teachers said the meeting gave them something invaluable: time to reflect on their own growth, learn from peers facing similar challenges, and return to their classrooms with fresh ideas. In a profession where daily demands can feel overwhelming, this community of practice offers both support and inspiration.

It was Mumbai's first time hosting the event, marking a new chapter for collaborative education in India. The 89 program coordinators and 15 school heads who attended represent thousands of students whose learning experiences will improve because their teachers invested a day in getting better together.
