100 Italian Chefs Break Tiramisu Record in London

Italian chefs just created the world's longest tiramisu in London, and it took 50,000 ladyfinger biscuits and more than 3,000 eggs to do it.

One hundred chefs gathered at Chelsea Town Hall over the weekend to assemble a dessert measuring 1,445 feet long. That's nearly five football fields of creamy, coffee-soaked goodness.

The team, led by chef Mirko Ricci, shattered the previous record of 897 feet set in Milan in 2019. Guinness World Records judges confirmed the new achievement on Sunday after watching the chefs make and assemble every inch live on site.

Ricci originally held the tiramisu record back in 2017 in Italy before another team broke it two years later. This time, he chose London instead of Italy for a special reason.

"We decided to hold the attempt in the UK as a way to say thank you to the United Kingdom," Ricci explained. The giant pudding honored King Charles and the Royal Family, topped with a golden crown as a finishing touch.

The rules were strict. Chef Carmelo Carnevale said the tiramisu had to measure at least 3 inches high and nearly 6 inches wide throughout its entire length. No shortcuts allowed.

When asked what makes a truly great tiramisu, Carnevale kept it simple. "Very good coffee, a nice and firm cream, and also a lot of passion," he said.

This weekend celebration brought together Italian culinary tradition with British hospitality. The two-day event showed how food creates bridges between cultures and turns individual skill into collective achievement.

The chefs worked side by side, each contributing their expertise to one impossibly long dessert. Their collaboration proved that breaking records matters less than the community built along the way.
