Jensen Vaught traveled from Tennessee to Anaheim with his family this week, courtesy of Make-A-Wish and the Angels organization. The trip came after Jensen completed chemotherapy in November 2025 for anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a rare form of cancer he was diagnosed with last year.
"Last year was definitely a lot rougher than this year," said Jensen's dad Chris. "Watching him go through stuff that no kid should ever have to go through. It'd definitely break you as a person, but he came through it smiling."
The visit went far beyond a simple meet and greet. Jensen joined Angels manager Kurt Suzuki and the team for pregame warmups before they faced the Houston Astros. For a boy who loves baseball so much he played through treatment whenever doctors cleared him, the moment felt surreal.
"Ever since we got on the plane Monday, he's just been hopping all over the place," Chris said. "For him to actually be out here watching these guys do this, it's awesome."
During the game, the Angels honored Jensen with their "Steal Third" ceremony. He got to take home a game-used base while fans cheered him on, a tangible reminder of his incredible journey from patient to champion.
