12 Sailors Saved From Sinking Ship in West Bengal

A cargo ship was taking on water fast in West Bengal's Muri Ganga river, but thanks to alert fishermen and quick-thinking police, all 12 sailors made it home safely.

The MV Tamjid was crossing the river on Wednesday when it struck a hidden sandbar beneath the surface. The impact tore open the ship's midsection, and water began flooding in, trapping the crew on board.

Local fishermen spotted the vessel in distress and immediately contacted Sagar police station. Within minutes, a rescue team arrived at the scene.
