23-Year-Old Raises $100K Visiting 30 NBA Arenas in 30 Days

When Justin Leusner stepped into his 30th NBA arena on March 27, he wasn't just completing a world record. He was crossing the finish line of a journey that raised $100,000 for kids with critical illnesses.

The 23-year-old creator had dreamed of visiting all 30 NBA arenas since elementary school. Instead of doing it alone, he partnered with the NBA and Make-A-Wish to turn his bucket list into something bigger.

Starting February 24 in Indianapolis and ending 32 days later in San Francisco, Leusner attempted a Guinness World Record while filming daily YouTube episodes. His subscribers followed along as he completed wild challenges at each stop, from sinking a half-court shot in Milwaukee to getting 100 selfies with LeBron James fans in LA.

The Milwaukee moment perfectly captured the series magic. With the crowd booing after two airballs, Leusner stepped back and launched a third half-court shot during a TV timeout. It swished through the net.

In San Antonio, the journey's deeper purpose came into focus. Leusner met Jorge, a Make-A-Wish kid having his wish granted courtside at a Spurs game. The arena erupted in chants of "Jorge! Jorge!" for two straight minutes, leaving everyone in tears.

By the final day, the fundraiser had stalled at $57,000. Leusner and his team accepted they'd fallen short of their goal, proud to have raised anything at all.
