Star Trek Fans Attempt Vulcan Salute World Record at 60

On September 8, 2024, the Science Museum in London will host a free world record attempt for the most people performing the iconic Vulcan salute at once. The party started early with restored 4K screenings of the first four Star Trek films hitting 750 theaters across America from September 4-8. Each screening pairs the movie with the original TV episode that inspired it, giving fans a chance to see how the stories evolved from small screen to big.

Theaters are sweetening the deal with limited-edition Enterprise popcorn buckets and colorful anniversary drink cups. The popcorn vessels shaped like the USS Enterprise are already becoming collector's items among devoted Trekkies.

Entertainment Tonight aired vault footage featuring interviews with creator Gene Roddenberry and beloved cast members, while The Price Is Right and Let's Make a Deal filmed Star Trek-themed episodes with guest appearances from Strange New Worlds stars Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck.
