28,550 Students Get Engineering Seats in Tamil Nadu

More than 28,000 aspiring engineers in Tamil Nadu are celebrating today after receiving their college admission offers through the state's engineering entrance process.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions program handed out 28,550 seats in its first round of counseling. Among these, 19,739 students received provisional allotment orders, meaning they can head straight to their assigned colleges to complete admission. Another 8,811 students got tentative allotment orders and will need to visit facilitation centers to submit their documents.

The admissions include dedicated seats for government school students, with 2,243 spots reserved specifically for these learners. This 7.5% reservation helps ensure students from all educational backgrounds can access quality engineering programs across the state.

Students received placements across both academic and vocational engineering tracks. The academic category saw the majority of admissions with over 25,000 students placed, while the vocational category welcomed more than 1,200 students who will combine hands-on training with traditional coursework.
