60-Year-Old Paralympic Champion Wins Bronze in Paris

Gabidullina competed in the 150-meter individual medley against 200 athletes from 37 countries. She touched the wall at 3 minutes and 47 seconds, securing third place on a podium she's stood on many times before as Kazakhstan's first Paralympic champion.

The competition ran from May 1 to 3 in Paris, drawing para swimmers from around the globe. Gabidullina, originally from Taraz, represented her country alongside five teammates, including standout performer Dias Kenzhebek, who set a new Asian record in the 100-meter backstroke.
