Abandoned Puppy Miracle Walks Out of Hospital After Recovery

When good Samaritans found a tiny French bulldog puppy abandoned behind a Walgreens in Fort Lauderdale on May 16, she could barely move. The emaciated pup, left in a box with scars covering her legs, was suffering from severe starvation and neglect.

Veterinarians at VEG ER for Pets immediately began intensive care. The puppy's condition was critical, with dangerously high sodium levels threatening her survival.

They named her Miracle, and she lived up to it. After several days of round-the-clock treatment, the puppy who couldn't stand began showing signs of improvement.

"When we put food in front of her, she wants to eat," said Cheryl Marrone with iHeart Animal Rescue, the organization now caring for Miracle. "That shows me that she's very happy that we fought this battle with her."

Just days after arriving at death's door, Miracle walked out of the animal hospital with assistance. She's now eating and drinking completely on her own.

iHeart Animal Rescue is providing all the ongoing care Miracle needs. "A lot of love and physical therapy, she's gonna be OK," Marrone said. "She's gonna make it."

The rescue is also working to find whoever abandoned Miracle. They're offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

But the focus remains on Miracle's future, not her past. This puppy who once suffered unimaginable pain now has a new lease on life and a chance at receiving the love she always deserved.
