Africa Tech Lab Launches to Train Next-Gen Developers

Thousands of young African developers now have a clear path to turn their tech ideas into real solutions that solve problems across the continent.

Africa Tech Builders Lab launched this week as a Pan-African program designed to advance emerging technology skills and ethical innovation. The initiative, powered by the United Africa Blockchain Association, targets young developers, startups, and technical communities across multiple African regions.

The program goes beyond basic coding classes. Participants get hands-on training in blockchain, AI, and other emerging technologies, plus mentorship from industry experts, access to innovation labs, startup incubation support, and direct connections to companies looking to deploy new solutions.

"At UABA, we believe Africa's future will be shaped by developers, innovators, creators and entrepreneurs who can transform ideas into scalable impact," says Yaliwe Mlambo, chairperson of the association. The program emphasizes not just technical skills but ethical leadership and responsible technology development.

The lab will host workshops, hackathons, accelerator programs, technical bootcamps, founder labs, and innovation showcases. Young technologists can apply to join upcoming cohorts and access the full ecosystem of support.

This initiative addresses a critical gap in Africa's tech ecosystem. While the continent has no shortage of creative problem-solvers, many talented developers lack structured pathways to turn their skills into deployed products and viable businesses.
