African-Startups.com Launches to Spotlight Innovation

African founders are building remarkable solutions to real-world challenges, but many never get the recognition they've earned. That's changing with the launch of African-Startups.com, a new media platform spotlighting startups, venture capital, and innovation across the continent.

The platform launched during the EU-Startups Summit in Malta, bringing together nearly 2,400 founders, investors, and ecosystem builders. Created by MeOut Group as a sister publication to EU-Startups, the site will deliver factual coverage of funding announcements, founder journeys, investor profiles, and policy developments shaping Africa's tech landscape.

The numbers tell a story of untapped potential. African tech startups raised $4.1 billion across 570 deals in 2025, according to Partech. By contrast, European startups secured $77.9 billion across more than 10,000 deals during the same period.

But funding gaps don't tell the full story. African entrepreneurs are navigating fragmented regulations, multiple currencies, infrastructure constraints, and diverse geopolitical dynamics while still managing to innovate and scale. Their resilience deserves a spotlight.

"Africa has all the ingredients for a generational leap in tech and entrepreneurship," says Attila Sándor, CEO of MeOut Group. His company has spent over a decade connecting founders with capital across more than 150 countries through initiatives like the Global Startup Awards.

The platform goes beyond daily news. It will feature case studies, market intelligence reports, and analysis of cross-border collaborations between African and European ecosystems. The goal is to help investors, partners, and customers worldwide understand the unique opportunities emerging from African markets.

The launch signals growing connections between two vibrant innovation landscapes. By bridging African and European startup ecosystems, the platform creates pathways for partnerships, investment opportunities, and shared learning that benefit entrepreneurs on both continents.

Looking ahead, African-Startups.com plans to host its own flagship summit in 2027. The event will bring together ecosystem builders from across Africa and beyond, featuring keynotes from leading founders, panel discussions, and a startup pitch competition where early-stage companies can present to prominent investors.

Thomas Ohr, founder of EU-Startups, sees clear parallels to Europe's journey. When he started EU-Startups in 2010, European innovation coverage was highly fragmented. "Today, I believe some of the most important lessons in innovation are emerging from African markets," he says.
