AI Startup Raises $22M to Ease Oncologist Burnout

Cancer patients are living longer than ever, and that's creating an unexpected challenge for the doctors caring for them.

Those longer lives mean thicker medical records. Some oncology charts now contain thousands of pages of physician notes, imaging reports, pathology results, and even faxed documents. Reviewing all that information before each appointment leaves doctors exhausted and patients waiting.

Triomics, a startup founded in 2021, built an AI platform specifically trained on cancer data to solve this problem. Their technology reads through those massive medical records and creates clear, accurate patient summaries that appear right inside the tools doctors already use.

The system does more than save time. It matches patients with appropriate clinical trials, automates mandatory tumor registry reporting, and handles other data-heavy tasks that contribute to staff burnout in oncology departments.

The approach is working. Memorial Sloan Kettering and Yale Cancer Center both use Triomics instead of generic AI tools because the platform understands the unique complexity of cancer care.

Battery Ventures just led a $22 million Series B funding round for the company, joined by Nexus Venture Partners, Lightspeed, Y Combinator, and other returning investors. That brings Triomics' total funding to $37 million since launching three years ago.

The investment reflects real growth. Triomics expanded its enterprise customer base fourfold over the past year, and its recurring revenue jumped tenfold during the same period.
