America just flipped the switch on its largest clean energy project ever, and the numbers are staggering.

The SunZia project, stretching across New Mexico and Arizona, is now fully operational and ready to power approximately one million homes. The massive infrastructure includes a 3,650-megawatt wind generation facility and a 550-mile transmission line that connects renewable energy to the Western power grid.

To put that in perspective, SunZia can generate more electricity than the iconic Hoover Dam. The high-voltage transmission line carries clean wind power from New Mexico's wind-rich plains to communities across Arizona and beyond.

Pattern Energy developed the ambitious project, which required years of planning and construction. The scale of the achievement attracted significant investment, with Nuveen recently closing a $546 million financing package to support the final phase.

The transmission line itself represents a breakthrough. At 550 miles long, it solves one of renewable energy's biggest challenges: getting power from where it's generated to where people actually need it.
