Angels Outfielder Jo Adell Robs 3 Home Runs in One Game

Sometimes the most unbelievable moments in sports come from pure athletic brilliance, not the highlight-reel plays everyone expects.

Jo Adell, the Angels' 27-year-old right fielder, did something Saturday night at Angel Stadium that veteran players have never witnessed. He robbed three home runs in a single game, denying the Seattle Mariners what should have been easy runs in a tense 1-0 contest.

The night started with Adell leaping at the 8-foot right field wall to snag a 105 mph rocket off Cal Raleigh's bat in the first inning. "I thought there was a chance," Raleigh said after the game. "But you never know."

He did it again in the eighth inning, timing another perfect jump to steal a home run from Josh Naylor. But his best was yet to come.

With the Mariners trailing by one run in the ninth inning, J.P. Crawford crushed a ball to the right field corner that looked like a game-tying home run the moment it left his bat. Crawford jogged down the first base line, already celebrating.

"I don't know if I've ever seen a guy rob two homers in one game, much less three," Raleigh said. "Baseball can amaze you night in and night out. You can see something you've never seen before."

The catches saved three runs in a game decided by a single run. Adell's defensive heroics turned what could have been a Mariners comeback into an Angels victory and gave fans a performance they'll remember for years.
