Atlanta Foundation Gives $15K to Fight Brain Diseases

When Atlanta News First journalist Adam Murphy lost his mother Janice to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, he turned his grief into action. Now his Miracle For Mom Foundation is making waves in brain disease research with its latest $15,000 donation to Emory Brain Health Center.

The check presentation on Thursday marks another milestone in the foundation's mission to tackle diseases that steal minds and mobility. The money will fund research seeking treatments and cures for ALS, PSP, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease.

Dr. Stewart Factor from Emory Brain Health Center says the foundation's ongoing support has fueled real breakthroughs. "This $15,000 adds to the years of support that has really made some great strides, especially in walking and balance problems in Parkinson's," he explained.

The numbers tell a powerful story. Over just a few years, Murphy's foundation has donated more than $150,000 to Emory and other research organizations working to unlock answers about brain diseases.
