Auto Parts Firms Award $600K in Scholarships Since 2001

Twenty-six students are heading back to school this fall with financial support from two automotive companies investing in the next generation of mechanics and technicians.

Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper announced their 2026 scholarship recipients, awarding funds to children of employees and staff members from their certified service centers and parts stores across North America. Students submitted essays, transcripts, and recommendation letters to compete for the awards through an independent review process.

One standout recipient is Elijah Coffey from Kleyn Mobile Repair in Ontario. He received the Pat Biermann Memorial Heavy Duty Scholarship, a special award created in 2025 to honor a respected industry leader who spent over 40 years in the heavy-duty aftermarket field. The scholarship supports students pursuing diesel technology, commercial vehicle maintenance, and other specialized heavy-duty careers.

The scholarships come at a meaningful time for the industry. The University of the Aftermarket Foundation, which administers the program, is celebrating 40 years of supporting automotive education. For four decades, the foundation has connected students with opportunities to become tomorrow's skilled technicians and industry professionals.

The Ripple Effect spreads beyond individual students. Since launching in 2001, the Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper Scholarship Program has awarded more than $600,000 to students pursuing automotive service, engineering, business, and technology careers. Each graduate strengthens the workforce that keeps vehicles running safely across the continent, supporting families who depend on reliable transportation for work, school, and daily life.
