Pest Control Company Awards $7,500 to Future Leaders

Fox Pest Control is putting money behind its belief that strong communities start with young people willing to serve others.

The Logan, Utah company just launched its fourth annual Future Leaders Scholarship, offering $5,000 to one college student who demonstrates leadership and community service, plus $2,500 to a nonprofit of the winner's choice. Applications are open through September 30, 2026.

Since starting the program in 2023, Fox Pest Control has awarded more than $12,500 to students and charitable organizations. The scholarship recognizes young people who are already making a difference in their neighborhoods, schools, and communities.

"We believe strong communities are built by individuals who are willing to step up, serve others, and make a difference where they are," said Steve Short, the company's vice president of sales and marketing. The program encourages students to continue creating positive change throughout their education and careers.

Students applying must show how they've exhibited leadership through service and personal initiative. The company wants to see real examples of how applicants have taken ownership of challenges and made a positive impact in their communities.

The Ripple Effect

What makes this scholarship unique is its charitable component. Winners don't just receive funds for their education. They also get to champion a cause that matters to them by directing $2,500 to an eligible nonprofit organization.

Last year's winner, Shreyan Singha, used the opportunity to support Kids of Love, a local nonprofit helping children with serious illnesses and their families. "This scholarship helps me further reach my goal of making healthcare more accessible in two ways," Singha explained. He's using the funds to study healthcare business while supporting an organization close to his heart.

The program reflects a growing trend of companies investing directly in the next generation of community leaders. By combining educational support with charitable giving, Fox Pest Control is helping students develop both professionally and as civic-minded citizens.
