Bangladesh Students Showcase 7 Innovations at National Fair

Students from one of Bangladesh's top engineering schools are turning their classroom ideas into products that could change lives across the nation.

Seven teams from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology arrived in Dhaka this weekend to showcase their inventions at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026. The national event, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, brings together the country's brightest young minds with the investors and industries that can make their innovations reality.

The fair opened Saturday at Novo Theatre in the capital with a clear mission: bridge the gap between university research and practical application. Under the theme "Innovate to Market," the event creates a direct line between student inventors and the business world.

RUET's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S.M. Abdur Razzak personally attended the opening to support his students. He walked through their displays at stalls 68 and 69, where prototypes and project posters demonstrate solutions the teams have been developing.

The students are supervised by Professor Dr. Rabiul Islam Sarkar, the university's Student Welfare Director, and Assistant Director Abu Ismail Siddiquee. Their participation puts RUET's research capabilities on display for the entire country to see.

The Ripple Effect

This fair represents something bigger than a student showcase. It's building the infrastructure Bangladesh needs to turn academic talent into economic growth.

When universities, research institutions, investors, and industries share the same space, magic happens. Students learn what problems need solving. Investors discover projects worth funding. Companies find the innovation partners they've been searching for.
