Bemidji Curling Team Wins Minnesota State Championship

A team from the Bemidji Curling Club just proved they're among the best in Minnesota.

Team Berg, made up of Nia Berg, Ella Willford, Solveig Berg, and Carol Chance, won first place at the 2026 Minnesota Women's Club Curling Championship on February 1 in Mapleton. The victory marks another impressive achievement for the four athletes who have been dominating state competitions together.

The team's success didn't come out of nowhere. Earlier this year, they secured a silver medal at the U18 Curling Nationals in Colorado, showing they can compete at the highest levels.

Now they're setting their sights even higher. Team Berg will represent Minnesota at the Club National Championship from March 25 to 29 at the Chaska Curling Center, where they'll face the best club curling teams from across the country.
