Bojangles Launches EV Charging at Georgia Restaurant

Bojangles just installed its first electric vehicle charging station at a Savannah, Georgia restaurant, and it's changing what a quick stop looks like for EV drivers across America.

The new charging hub at 4401 Ogeechee Road pairs fast charging with the chain's famous chicken and biscuits. While most EV drivers scramble to find charging stations in empty parking lots, Bojangles is betting they'd rather grab a Bo-Berry Biscuit while their battery fills up.

"With EV charging, time becomes an asset," said Richard Del Valle, Bojangles' Chief Information Officer. "We're turning that stop into something meaningful: a chance to relax, refuel and enjoy a true Bojangles experience."

The timing couldn't be better. As electric vehicle adoption grows nationwide, drivers need more places to charge that aren't just functional but actually enjoyable. Most public charging stations offer little more than a parking spot and a long wait.

Bojangles partnered with XLR8 America, a leader in EV charging infrastructure, to make the vision real. The stations will offer both medium and high-speed charging with over 97% uptime, meaning they'll work when drivers need them most.

"Charge where you park, not park where you charge," said Frank O'Connor, CEO of XLR8 America. "When a driver pulls in for a Bo-Berry Biscuit and their battery tops off while they dine, that's the charge-and-dine experience made real."

The Savannah location is just the beginning. Bojangles plans to roll out EV charging stations at restaurants across the country, transforming the 870-location chain into a nationwide network of charging-friendly stops.

This move goes beyond one restaurant chain adding a few charging stations. By weaving EV infrastructure into existing businesses where people already gather, Bojangles is helping solve one of the biggest barriers to electric vehicle adoption: charging anxiety.

When charging becomes as easy as grabbing lunch, more people feel confident making the switch to electric. And when a beloved Southern food chain with locations across 23 states commits to this vision, it signals to other restaurants and retailers that the future of roadside hospitality includes plugging in.
