The 34-year-old Brisbane woman naturally conceived four identical baby girls who shared a single placenta, an event so rare that doctors at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital believe it has never happened before in Australia. Worldwide, there are only two other known cases.

"This is unheard of," said Dr. Alexa Bendall, the fetal medicine specialist who cared for Na'amoana throughout her pregnancy. "Four sacs, one placenta. We don't think it's ever happened in Australia."

"I'm incredibly honored that they decided to name one of their girls after me," Bendall said.
