Burien Farmers Market Hosts Diaper Drive for Local Babies

When families struggle to afford diapers, babies can face serious health risks from extended wear. Now one local service club is making sure Seattle-area infants get a safe, healthy start.

The Rotary Club of Burien & White Center will host a donation booth at the Burien Farmers Market this Thursday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shoppers can drop off diapers and other baby essentials while learning about WestSide Baby, an organization dedicated to supporting families in need across Greater Seattle.

"Every child deserves a safe start," organizers said in promoting the drive. The collection makes it easy for community members to help, whether they're already planning to shop for fresh produce or want to make a special trip to contribute.

Residents can support the effort in three ways. They can scan a QR code at the booth to purchase needed items online, bring diapers and supplies directly to the collection bin, or make a financial donation to WestSide Baby through another QR code.

This farmers market drive represents something bigger than a single day of donations. When families have access to adequate diapers, babies stay healthier and parents can focus on work and caregiving instead of scrambling for basic supplies.
